Cedar Rapids Prairie with 8 players named first-team Class 4A, District 8 in football

CEDAR RAPIDS — Cedar Rapids Prairie placed eight players on the Class 4A, District 8 all-district team, it has been announced.
The Hawks, who won the district, had offensive first-teamers in Joe Meyer, Zach Ganske, Calvin Hynek. Chance Halfhill, Preston LaGrange and Levi Usher. On defense, the lone Hawks players named first-team all-district was Cameron LaGrange.
Prairie's Mark Bliss was named district Coach of the Year.
4A playoff runner-up Iowa City West placed five players on the first team, including district Offensive Player of the Year Oliver Martin. Devontae Lane and Josh Van Roekel joined him offensively, with Max Brown and Dillon Doyle first-teamers on defense.
Cedar Rapids Kennedy had four first-team players in Jackson Coker, Nick Duehr, Johnson Mator and Alex Stone. Mator was named District 8 Defensive Player of the Year.
Linn-Mar's first-teamers were Josh Gassmann and Reese Phillips on offense, and Jace Myers on defense.
