The Atlanta Falcons added Cedar Rapids native and former Iowa center Rob Bruggeman to their practice team Wednesday.
Bruggeman, 6-foot-4, 293 pounds, was cut on Saturday by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, just days after he was promoted to second-team center. The Buccaneers signed Bruggeman as an undrafted free agent in April.
Bruggeman played at Cedar Rapids Washington and was named second-team all-Big Ten last year at Iowa. Bruggeman joins Mitch King (Tennessee), Matt Kroul (New York Jets), Bryan Mattison (Baltimore) and Scott Chandler (Dallas) as former Hawkeyes on NFL practice teams.
