Cedar Rapids' Christianson invited to MLS combine

Ian Christianson of Cedar Rapids is one of 54 soccer players nationwide who have been invited to the 2013 Major League Soccer Player Combine, Jan. 11-15 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.Christianson did not play prep soccer, starring for the Cedar Rapids Soccer Association club team for multiple years. A senior midfielder, he had two goals and two assists and was a two-time team captain for Georgetown University.The Hoyas made it to the national championship game last week, losing to Indiana, 1-0.He hopes to be one of 38 players taken in the 2013 MLS SuperDraft Jan. 17 in Indianapolis.
