Burroughs wins more gold at World Championships

LAS VEGAS, Nev. — It was the perfect ending for an international wrestling tournament on American soil.
Jordan Burroughs provided it and stood tall as the electronic image of the U.S. flag raised and the national anthem blared.
Burroughs beat Mongolia's Unurbat Purevjav, 10-0, Saturday night to win the 163-pound title of the World Championships at Orleans Arena. The title was his fourth, including three World crowns and gold at the 2012 Olympics.
He joins select company, including John Smith and Bruce Baumgartner. Smith won six world-level titles with six World golds and two Olympic titles. Baumgartner won five total, including three Worlds.
Burroughs improved his international record to 114-2 overall and outscored his opponents, 45-5, in this tournament.
The U.S. earned seven total medals, receiving freestyle titles from Burroughs, Kyle Snyder (213), Adeline Gray (165) and Helen Maroulis at 121.
