Broncos' James Ferentz has knee surgery

Former Iowa center James Ferentz had an arthroscopic knee procedure Monday that will keep him out of the Denver Broncos' first few games.
"We're expecting him to be a part of us this year, so we wanted to go clean this up," Broncos Coach Gary Kubiak said. "He's played really (well) for us."
Ferentz joined Denver shortly before last season started after getting waived by the Houston Texans. He played in 14 games as the backup center, and on special teams.
His senior season at Iowa was 2012. He was out of football during the 2013 season, then spent 2014 on the Texans' practice squad.
