IOWA CITY — After starting 18 games for the University of Iowa women's basketball team as a freshman, Bre Cera is moving on.
The university announced Tuesday that Cera has been granted a transfer release.
'We appreciate the contributions Bre has made to our team on and off the court as a Hawkeye,' Iowa Coach Lisa Bluder said in a release. 'We wish her the best as she pursues a career closer to home.'
A native of Mukwonago, Wis., Cera played in 31 games in her rookie season. She averaged 2.0 points and 2.1 rebounds in 16.1 minutes per game as the Hawkeyes went 20-14 and reached the WNIT quarterfinals.
