TANNER SCHILLING (Iowa City West) - Junior striker had two goals in the Class 3A state championship game last season. A second-team all-state pick despite not being named All-Mississippi Valley Conference because of injuries and missing early games because of a soccer-related trip to Argentina.
ERIK BOYER (Cedar Rapids Kennedy) - Second-team all-state in 3A as a striker. Will play soccer next season at Drake.
CHARLIE BALES (Cedar Rapids Xavier) - Like Boyer, you might know him as his team's kicker in football. Was first-team all-state in Class 2A. Has signed to play soccer at Western Illinois.
ANDY HOLTE (Iowa City West) - Every good team needs a good keeper. Helped West to the 3A state title a season ago. Will play soccer at Butler.
CHARLES BARDEN (Linn-Mar) - Senior striker hopes to help Linn-Mar improve on 3-13 record of last season. Scored four goals last season en route to second-team all-state in 3A. Has signed with Valparaiso.
JOSE CASTENON (South Tama) - Had 10 goals and 11 assists in 14 games last season. That was good enough for the Iowa High School Soccer Coaches Association to name him a first-team all-stater in Class 2A. Primarily a midfielder.
JOHNNY RUMMELHART (Iowa City Regina) - Junior scored goal in Regina's 1-0 win over Council Bluffs St. Albert in last season's Class 1A state championship game. First-team all-state and all-tournament.
