Boys basketball roundup: Benton Community tops Marion

Lathan Cooper and Tucker Schroeder each scored 16 points to lead Benton Community to a 60-47 win at Marion.

T.J. Morris added 13 points for the Bobcats, who improved to 2-3.

Craig Engle scored a team-high 13 points for Marion (3-2), while Noah Walter chipped in 10.

IOWA CITY HIGH 49, C.R. JEFFERSON 27 - Three Little Hawks scored in double digits as Iowa City High (1-1, 1-0 MVC) won on the road. Nate Weiland scored 10 points, six rebounds, and nine steals, while Chuck Johnson and Logan Lafauce finished with 10 points apiece.

Bryce Cardis led the J-Hawks with 10 points and four rebounds.

IOWA CITY WEST 67, WATERLOO WEST 50 - Devontae Lane led all scorers with 18 points as the Trojans (4-0, 1-0 MVC) defeated the Wahawks in Iowa City. Wali Parks scored 16 points and eight rebounds while Tanner Lohaus had 14 points and four assists and Connor McCaffery finished the night with 14 points as well.

Devon Moore led Waterloo West (0-2, 0-1 MVC) with 17 points while Lincoln Conrey tallied 12 points for the Wahawks.

DUBUQUE SENIOR 51, C.R. PRAIRIE 42 - Justin Blackman had 19 points and Luke McDonnell had 15 points to lead Senior in Dubuque. Ben Boldt had 14 points and eight rebounds and Cal Clark added 10 points for Prairie (3-1).

EAST BUCHANAN 62, CEDAR VALLEY CHRISTIAN 27 - Hunter Schulte led all players with 18 points as the Buccaneers (1-4) beat the Huskies in Winthrop. Christian French finished with 12 points while Justin Kress added eight points for East Buchanan.

Tom Scroggs and Travis Geels led Cedar Valley Christian (0-4) with six points each.
