Boys basketball roundup

A look at the area roundup of high school boys basketball games last night.

C.R. JEFFERSON 58, DUBUQUE HEMPSTEAD 39 - Jarrod Uthoff poured in 36 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to lead Class 4A third-ranked Jefferson (14-1, 10-1 MVC) at Dubuque.

T.J. Johnson led Hempstead (0-14, 0-10 MVC) with 10 points.

IOWA CITY REGINA 61, NORTH CEDAR 53 - Iowa City Regina used balanced scoring and committed only six turnover in defeating Class 2A sixth-ranked North Cedar (16-2) at Iowa City.

Braden Lehman scored 15 points for Regina (12-5), Ryan Lynch 14, Jacoby Firkins 13 Sean Sullivan nine.

Regina pulled ahead 45-34 in the third quarter after a 22-22 score at the half.

Jordan Hay scored 19 points for North Cedar.

IOWA CITY WEST 53, DUBUQUE WAHLERT 50 - Jeremy Morgan scored a game-high 12 points to lead Iowa City West past Dubuque Wahlert at home in an MVC game.

Jordan Bradley and Tayler Bontrager each added 10 points for the Trojans (8-8, 6-5 MVC).

Brad Kane and Nolan Schueller each scored 11 points for the Eagles (9-7, 5-6 MVC).

C.R. WASHINGTON 52, C.R. PRAIRIE 39 - Josh Oglesby scored a game-high 18 points for Washington at Prairie.

Alex Carr and Wes Washpun chipped in with 10 points apiece for the Warriors (7-8, 6-5 MVC).

Matt MacDougall scored 12 points for Prairie (2-14, 1-10 MVC). Matt Jantzen and Brandon Lafferty added 10 each.

WATERLOO EAST 76, C.R. XAVIER - Jon Keller popped in seven 3-pointers and scored 27 points for Cedar Rapids Xavier at Waterloo.

Joe Sayre added 19 points for Xavier (5-10, 3-8), and Ryan Sander added 12. Tevin Browne scored 21 points for East (6-9, 4-7).
