IOWA CITY - On Friday night, the Trojans brought the boot back to West High after defeating City High, 30-6, in the annual Battle for the Boot.
Garrett Hartwig began his first season as head coach this fall after serving as defensive coordinator and now has the crosstown rivalry win under his belt.
During the first quarter, senior quarterback Aaron Bleil had two touchdown passes to sophomore receiver Oliver Martin. Senior Tyler Eads scored West's final touchdown of the game with 6 minutes and 30 seconds left in the fourth quarter.
The win ensures bragging rights for the West Side until next year's game.
