Big 4 Classic times set

IOWA CITY - Tip times are set for the fourth annual Big 4 Classic, which comprises the state's four Division I men's basketball programs on Dec. 19 at Des Moines' Wells Fargo Arena.

Iowa and Drake will open the doubleheader at 3:30 p.m., and it will air on ESPN3.com. Iowa State and Northern Iowa will play at around 6 p.m. ESPNU will televise that game.

Both Northern Iowa (31-4 last year) and Iowa State (25-9) won their conference tournaments last year and spent time in the top 10. Iowa (22-12) joined both teams in the NCAA tournament. Drake finished 9-21 last season.

Iowa and Drake meet for the 68th time. The Hawkeyes lead 57-10 historically. Iowa State and UNI play for the 49th time, and the Cyclones hold a 36-12 edge.
