Berry wins Pribyl Open Division

Linn-Mar senior Trevor Berry won the Rotary Pribyl Junior Golf Tournament's Open Division by shooting a final-day 5-over 75 Friday at Elmcrest Country Club. Berry, whose shot 76-76-77-75-304 for the tournament, won by 5 strokes over Jason Beer, who had been the third-round leader.
“I played pretty good. I got off to a slow start and was 3 over on the front 9. I picked it up on the back 9,” Berry said. “I was even going into 18 and double (bogeyed). But I had a bit of a cushion so that was all right.”
Berry, who won the Pribyl's Novice Division three years ago going into his freshman year, said it meant a lot to win the Open Division. “You're going against all the kids in the area.”
