Benefit tournament for Indee coach

INDEPENDENCE -- The Independence High School softball team is putting together a benefit tournament for the Posey family of Independence.Steve Posey is an assistant softball coach for the Mustangs. He was critically injured in a fire Friday morning that claimed the life of his 7-year-old daughter, Jaileigh.Posey is hospitalized at the University of Iowa Hosipitals and Clinics.The family's belongings were destroyed.The 12-and-under tournament will be July 13. Cost is $175. All the proceeds will be donated to the Steve & Jen Posey Benefit Fund at the Security State Bank.
