The Player of the Year Point totals are derived by adding the top six of the nine Major Point Events totals administered by the Iowa PGA and the top five highest point finishes in all other Junior Tour events played for each junior throughout the summer
Anyone who is competing for the Player of the Year award must
be a Junior Tour Member. At the end of the season the juniors with the most points in Boys 10-11, 12-13, 14-15, 16-18, 18-21 and Girls 13 & Under, 14-15, 16-18, 18-21 age divisions are awarded this title. There are 11 Major Point events, eight Super Point events, more than 25 Standard Point events and 13 local qualifiers for two of the Majors (qualifiers are non-point events).
Mitchell Jacobi of Belle Plaine took the title of Player of the Year for the Collegiate Boys 18-21 with 830 points. He won three events this summer, the Finkbine Junior in Iowa City, the Pheasant Ridge Junior in Cedar Falls and the Airport National Junior in Cedar Rapids. He also finished second at the Iowa PGA Junior Championship at Lake Panorama National GC in Panora and third at the Cedar Rapids Junior held at Gardner GC in Marion and Ellis Park GC in Cedar Rapids.
He never finished out of the top three when he teed it up.
