[Baseball] Weber's two-hitter leads to league honor

MOUNT PLEASANT, Iowa -- The Midwest Collegiate Conference has named Mount Mercy senior right-hander Derrick Weber the league's baseball Pitcher of the Week for May 2.
Weber (7-4) tossed a complete-game, two-hitter in Mount Mercy's come-from-behind, 2-1 victory at William Penn on Thursday in Oskaloosa. He didn't allow an earned run while striking out six and walking two. Weber, who led the Mustangs in wins (7) and strikeouts (44) this season, was also the MCC Pitcher of the Week for March 14.
Mount Mercy (20-19) wraps up its season with a non-conference game against intra-city rival Coe on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. at Daniels Park.
