Maryland and Rutgers just haven't quite caught on yet in Big Ten country. Saturday, the crowd at the Maryland-Iowa game was 62,667. That's Iowa's smallest home crowd for a Big Ten game in a long time.
Saturday's crowd at Rutgers-Wisconsin was 74,575 (and the number of actual people at Camp Randall Stadium was far less), the smallest crowd for a Wisconsin home game of any kind in a long time.

The Big Ten's three interim head coaches — Illinois' Bill Cubit, Maryland's Mike Locksley and Minnesota's Tracy Claeys — went 0-3 Saturday.

Purdue Coach Darrell Hazell got his first Big Ten home win in his three seasons as coach, and second overall, when the Boilermakers beat Nebraska, 55-45.

Ohio State's J.T. Barnett's tenure as the Buckeyes' starting quarterback this season lasted one game. He started last week in the Buckeyes' rout of Rutgers, but was suspended for this Saturday's game against Minnesota because he was cited on suspicion of operating a vehicle under the influence in Columbus early Saturday morning.
