Final - Dayton 82, Iowa 77
Iowa rallied from a 14-point hole to take a three-point lead late in the second half, but could not hang on.
Anthony Clemmons was called for a foul going for a steal with a minute left, and Charles Cooke buried a pair at the line to give Dayton a 78-77 lead.
Jarrod Uthoff missed a three at the other end, then Scoochie Smith made a tough scoop shot with 12 seconds to go and the shot clock winding down to put the Flyers up three.

Peter Jok air-balled a contested three trying to tie. Adam Woodbury was able to corral the ball with four seconds to play but could not get a timeout called before falling out of bounds.
Iowa shot 43.1 percent for the game and made 12-of-24 3-pointers. Dayton was 49.1 percent shooting from the field and was 21-of-27 from the free-throw line.
Uthoff led Iowa with 18 points and Jok had 12, though the pair combined for only five second-half points.
Dayton's Cooke led all scorers with 22 points on 7-of-12 shooting, including 4-of-6 from beyond the arc. Kendall Pollard and Kyle Davis each had 16 for the Flyers.

3:10 2nd - Iowa 72, Dayton 69
After trailing by as much as 14 in the second half, a 13-0 run has the Hawkeyes in front down the stretch.
Brady Ellingson's three put Iowa up one, following Mike Gesell's jumper that pulled Iowa within two.

Gesell, who made two free throws to extend the lead out of the media timeout, has been huge during this run after playing only two minutes in the first half because of foul trouble.
Peter Jok hit a pull-up jumper off a Gesell feed, then a great backdoor cut by Anthony Clemmons led to another Gesell assist that brought Iowa within four.
Meanwhile, Dayton has missed its last five shots.
7:27 2nd - Dayton 69, Iowa 61
Back-to-back Brady Ellingson threes give Iowa some life about midway through the half.
This is a back-and-forth game once again, but obviously Iowa needs a few stops at some point to have a chance.
Whether it be man or zone, the Hawkeyes haven't found a solution on the defensive end. Daytin is 7-for-11 in the second half and three Flyers are now in double figures, led by Kyle Davis with 16. Charles Cooke has 15, Kendall Pollard 14.
A Jarrod Uthoff trey -- his first points of the second half (18 total) -- cut the lead to six at one point before Cooke answered with a jumper seconds later.
15:46 2nd - Dayton 58, Iowa 45
Iowa looking sluggish out of the locker rooms on both ends. The difference between tonight and last week's win at Marquette (beyond Dayton being a better team)?
"(Against Marquette) they got open looks. And they knocked them down," ESPN analyst Tim Welsh said. "Tonight they're not getting those looks."
Iowa shooting 42.1 percent so far and Uthoff has been mostly shut down since his early spurt that had previously made this a back-and-forth-game.
Dayton got anything it wanted in transition for a 7-0 run to start the half, forcing an Iowa timeout.

Half - Dayton 45, Iowa 39
Little action in the final 2 1/2 minutes of what was otherwise an up-and-down first half that featured 10 lead changes.
Jarrod Uthoff has a game-high 15 points, Kyle Davis leads Dayton with 10.
Dayton led by as much as seven at 7:17 before Dale Jones' second three of the night a minute later, then increased it to seven again on Kyle Davis' long ball just before the final media timeout of the half.
Flyers are shooting 45.2 percent from the field (14-of-31, 5-of-13 on threes), Iowa 41.2 percent (13-of-30, including 6-of-13 from distance).
Couple of easy drives and dunks for the Flyers against an Iowa defense that looks out of sorts with Gesell and Woodbury sidelined by foul trouble.
Still, an impressive, authoritative finish here from Kendall Pollard.
7:53 1st - Dayton 31, Iowa 28
Some entertaining basketball as the teams go back and forth. Hawkeyes have made 5-of-7 threes, Flyers 4-of-10.
Charles Cooke's three and runout dunk put Dayton up four at one point. Dale Jones answered with a three before two Scoochie Smith free throws.
Jarrod Uthoff, who leads all scorers with 13 points, got about as fired up as you'll see him. Hit another three to put Iowa up 23-19 and showed off a bit with the head nod as Xeriyus Williams is called for pushing through Adam Woodbury's screen.
But then Woodbury is whistled on two straight possessions and takes a seat.
11:50 1st - Iowa 18, Dayton 15
Peter Jok starting to heat up for the Hawkeyes. Hits a three, then a few possessions later buries a fadeaway coming off a screen to give the Hawkeyes their largest lead.
Might not just be the No. 0 freshman Ahmad Wagner has in common with last year's Big Ten freshman of the year, Gabe Olaseni. Wagner ran the floor and took a beautiful bounce pass from Anthony Clemmons for a layup that put the Hawkeyes in front 16-15.

14:18 1st - Dayton 12, Iowa 10
Fran McCaffery says in his pregame interview it's important to take care of the ball against a really good Dayton defense ... and on the Hawkeyes' second possession, Peter Jok loses it and Kendall Pollard gets a lay-in to open the scoring.
Iowa turned it over three times and missed its first four shots before Jarrod Uthoff broke the ice with a jumper at 16:04, then followed with a three, drive and assist to Adam Woodbury and another three on the next three possessions.
Charles Cook and Kyle Davis hit treys to put the Flyers in front.
Dayton led 6-0 before Uthoff responded.
