NEW HAMPTON 19, WAUKON 14:Class 2A sixth-ranked New Hampton stopped a late drive on its own 15 yard line to upset Class 2A top-ranked Waukon and win the Class 2A-3 district title.Cole McDonald completed 9 of 13 passes for 159 yards and two touchdowns for the undefeated Chickasaws (9-0, 6-0).Waukon finishes the regular season at 8-1, 5-1.CENTER POINT-URBANA 20, MOUNT VERNON 19:A failed two-point conversion in overtime cost the host Mustangs the win and sent the Stormin Pointers into the playoffs.Brandon Kinzie scored his third touchdown of the game on CPU's overtime possession, giving his team a 20-13 lead. The Mustangs answered with a Luke Maddock touchdown, but could convert the PAT.Trey Ryan and Jake Pisarik staked Mount Vernon (4-5, 3-3) to a 13-0 lead in the first quarter, Pisarik scoring a 25-yard quarterback keeper.Kinzie scored in the second and third quarters to tie the game. Marshal Gibbs also scored for the Mustangs in the first quarter, on a 20-yard return on a blocked punt.Gavin Timp led Anamosa (3-6, 2-5) with 75 yards on 29 rushes.- Daryl Schepanski, correspondentCLAYTON RIDGE 56, MFL MARMAC 0 - Dylan Preston rushed for two touchdowns as the Eagles (8-1, 6-1 1A-5) won in Guttenberg home over the Bulldogs.Trey Roehlk caught six passes for 91 yards and a touchdown for Clayton Ridge.ELKADER CENTRAL 46, TRIPOLI 38 - Nathan Fitzgerald had a dominant game for the Warriors with five rushing touchdowns and 230 yards on 32 carries and also caught two passes for 31 yards and another score.SPRINGVILLE 55, MIDLAND 20 -- Elias Nissen rushed for 172 yards and scored five touchdowns as Springville toppled Midland, 55-20, in Wyoming last night, completing the first unbeaten prep football regular season in school history.Nissen also had 81 receiving yards for the Orioles (9-0, 7-0).Quarterback Sam Scriver passed for 157 yards and one touchdown and also rushed for 44 and scored twice.Midland ends the season 3-6, 3-4.
