Westside must have been the best side, according to wrestling honors awarded by the Mississippi Valley Conference. Waterloo West two-time state champion Marcus Harrington (195) was named MVC tournament Athlete of the Year. Cedar Rapids Jefferson co-head coaches Dick Briggs and Matt Orton were named MVC Mississippi Division Coaches of the Year, while Cedar Rapids Prairie Coach Blake Williams received Valley Division Coach of the Year, leading the Hawks to a second straight conference team title.
