All-Metro girls golf teams

The spring prep golf season has concluded and season awards have been announced, including the Cedar Rapids/Marion All-Metro girls golf teams.Cedar Rapids Jefferson senior Megan Furnish and Cedar Rapids Washington's M.J. Kamin qualified for the Class 4A state tournament. Furnish capped her career with a fourth-place finish, while Kamin tied for 12th. Both are among the six first-team selections, which all were unanimous choices by coaches.Cedar Rapids Xavier missed qualifying for a second straight state tournament by three strokes, and placed a Metro-best two on the first team. Sophomores Maddie Bertsch and Grace Winker represented the Saints on the top squad.Cedar Rapids Kennedy's Ali Lindo and Linn-Mar's Julie Pople earned first-team honors. Pople's coach, Steve Kahler, was named Metro Coach of the Year.
