All-city swimmers splash to 3 records
CEDAR RAPIDS - More than 400 swimmers ages 5 to 17 represented 10 Metro-area teams and competed in 74 events Saturday in the annual All-City Swim Meet at Cherry Hill Aquatic Center.
Kennedy Area Swim Team won the team title with 754 points. MACR Sharks were second with 606.
Records were set in three events: Jared Thorson (MACR), boys 13-14 50-butterfly, 26.37 seconds; Thorson, 13-14 100-yard IM, 1:01.37; Sam Jacobsen (Kennedy Area), girls 13-14 backstroke, 30.12 seconds.
