A summer break?

Long hot days and warm summer nights are over for high school athletes in Iowa.
The baseball season is over and the football season is upon us.
During those summer months, many athletes are putting in their time in multiple sports. To the rare three-sport athlete, it seems the summer can be the busiest time of the year.
I know this as well as anyone. In the prime of baseball season, I have to fit in two other sports. There were practices and games almost every day, football on Sundays and wrestling on Tuesday and Thursday nights.
How can I fit in all in?
Since baseball was in season, it was a priority. On Tuesday and Thursday nights when their wasn't a game, I would head to the wrestling room. Sundays were pretty open, a day off from baseball, so football was easy to fit in.
But it was more than baseball, football and wrestling. There also was the difference maker in sports - weight lifting, the time an athlete builds muscle and also grows closer as a team.
We push each every day in the weight room to get better.
It may seem cliché, but the best part of this summer 'break” and hanging out with teammates. Each team is like family to me.
