Most fans watching Big Ten Network's broadcast of Wednesday's Iowa-Minnesota game heard what Iowa guard Brady Ellingson said while he was trapped in the backcourt late in regulation.
Iowa's game notes spell that out.
Take a look at the first letter of each of the following bullet points here:
The old SID in me still reads game notes every week. I'm a big fan of how these bullet notes were arranged. February 10, 2017

That, of course, is in reference to officials ruling a jump ball instead of a timeout Ellingson was trying to call with the Hawkeyes ahead 77-75 and 20.3 seconds to play. Minnesota was given the ball via alternating possession, then tied the game with Nate Mason's layup and eventually won, 101-89 in double overtime.
While coach Fran McCaffery can't talk about officials' decision without the risk of being fined by the Big Ten, Iowa's sports information department can cleverly remind us of how the Hawkeyes felt about that call.
Here's the video if you haven't seen it:

'You never want to leave the game up for the refs to make a call,' Ellingson said after the game. 'I should've gotten rid of it or called timeout right away. It's just how the game goes sometimes.'
