The Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association released its all-state baseball team. Western Dubuque’s Isaac Then and Brett Harris were joined by Cedar Rapids Prairie’s Kade Knock, Solon’s Brett White and Dyersville Beckman’s Luke Sigwarth on the Super Team, which is made up of the top players regardless of class.
McIlravy competed in the Greater Cedar Rapids Open Thursday and Friday. The former Solon Spartan standout has enjoyed his experience on the professional circuit.
Very young, inexperienced, undersized, all that combined to make Cedar Rapids Kennedy’s boys basketball team less than stellar in the early going this season. But the Cougars have figured things out despite three freshmen who are playing big roles and are on a five-game win streak after Monday night’s 72-68 win at Linn-Mar.
