The Marion Indians boys' soccer team had five players named by the Wamac Conference as first team all-conference honorees. Sophomore Jaffer Murphy leads the team with 21 goals, while freshman brother Levi Murphy has 12 scores with four assists. Junior defenders Riece Frericks and Tim Schuttloffel were also first-team selections.
Second-year Marion Coach Marco Fichtner — who has led the Indians to the state tournament in each of his two seasons — was named Coach of the Year in the West Division.
Dyersville Beckman and Solon also had four first-team players. Both teams had their seasons end in a substate final on Saturday.
