KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Mount Mercy senior midfielder Petar Triva has been named an honorable mention all-American by the NAIA Men's Soccer All-America Selection Committee, the NAIA announced today.
Triva is the third all-American in school history, joining Alen Kudumovic (1999) and Dan Warne (2001) on Mount Mercy's list of NAIA award winners. The first-team all-Midwest Collegiate Conference standout shared the team lead with 10 goals this season, and led the MCC with 11 assists.
Led by MCC Coach of the Year Amir Hadzic, Mount Mercy was runner-up in the league during one of the best seasons in school history. The Mustangs, who reached the championship game of the MCC Tournament for the second time, set a school record for wins with a 15-6-0 mark.
