COLLEGE SOCCER: Marco Urlic nabs league honor
MOUNT PLEASANT, Iowa -- Senior defender
Marko Urlic, who scored the game-winning goal in Mount Mercy's 1-0 victory over Ashford on Sunday, has been named the Midwest Collegiate Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for Nov. 8.
Urlic led Mount Mercy's defensive effort in the shutout of the Saints, and drilled a 35-yard direct kick in the 86th minute to clinch the Mustangs' second berth in the MCC Finals on Thursday against top-seeded Grand View at 7:00 p.m. in Des Moines.
