UNI assistant Sanders to leave the football program

CEDAR FALLS - University of Northern Iowa assistant coach Eric Sanders is leaving the school's coaching staff after a two-year stint with the program.
Sanders worked with the wide receivers in 2010 and the running backs in 2011, helping the Panthers to back-to-back Missouri Valley Conference titles. He was a UNI quarterback from 2004-2007 and guided the Panthers to a record of 35-9 as a starter. Sanders, from Oelwein, is a former Gazette athlete of the year.
