Cornell sophomore Garrett Russikoff has been named to the 2011 All-Iowa Conference Men's Tennis Team announced Wednesday.
Russikoff was voted on the league's 12-player unit for singles. He is Cornell's first men's tennis all-conference selection since 2006 (Tom Jennings).
Russikoff finished 15-11 in singles competition this past season, including an 11-5 mark at the No. 2 position in the lineup. He compiled a 34-19 record in all matches, putting him third on the program's single-season list for total wins.
Russikoff tied the school record for most doubles wins in a season with a 19-8 mark. He and freshman teammate Joseph Reyes notched a perfect 11-0 record as No. 3 doubles partners.
Russikoff helped coach Patrick Cote's Rams (16-11 overall, 6-2 IIAC) establish a school record for most dual wins in a season and secure their highest finish (third place) in the IIAC Team Tournament on May 7.
Russikoff was among six underclassmen of the 18 total all-conference honorees in singles and doubles. Luther junior Scott Sundstrom was tabbed IIAC Player of the Year, and Luther's Brian Huinker Coach of the Year.
