Cornell remained No. 5 in this week's National Wrestling Coaches Association Division III Team Poll with a pair of highly-ranked individuals at their respective weights.
Senior Nicholas Loughlin climbed one spot to No. 2 in the 157-pound weight class. Senior Joe Hambleton fell one slot to No. 4 at 165.
Loughlin is Cornell's leader in wins with an 11-4 record after finishing 2-1 at the University of Iowa Duals Nov. 25. His lone loss was a 12-6 decision to Iowa's second-ranked Derek St. John.
Hambleton (10-2), the reigning IIAC Wrestler of the Week, went 2-1 against nationally-rated foes last weekend in Iowa City. He earned a 7-3 decision over Iowa Central's seventh-ranked Colin Hewitt, and an 18-1 technical fall over Baker's eighth-ranked Nathan Sommer. Hambleton lost by fall to Iowa's 15th-ranked Mike Evans.
The Rams (2-2 overall, 1-0 Iowa Conference) held on to the No. 5 spot after going 1-2 against stiff competition at the Iowa Duals. Cornell scored a 25-9 victory over NAIA's 15th-ranked Baker. The Rams dropped duals to Division I's top-ranked Iowa (42-0) and NJCAA's top-ranked Iowa Central (26-12).
The IIAC fields three of Division III's top five teams in No. 1 Wartburg, No. 3 Coe and No. 5 Cornell. Dubuque comes in at No. 14, and Luther at No. 20.
Cornell competes in the UW-La Crosse Candlewood Suite Duals Saturday, Dec. 3 in La Crosse, Wis. The Rams face UW-Eau Claire at 9 a.m., No. 6 Saint John's at 11 a.m., and No. 25 UW-Stevens Point at 1 p.m.
