Nineteen Rams named Academic All-IIAC

Cornell had 19 student-athletes recognized on the Academic All-Iowa Conference Team for the 2011 spring season.
Cornell's honorees included 13 members of head coach Lonnie Speidel's track and field teams - seven women and six men. Men's golf had three selections, baseball two and men's tennis one.
The IIAC recognized 214 student-athletes in six sports this spring. To be eligible for Academic All-IIAC honors, a student-athlete must compete at the varsity level, be at least a sophomore in academic standing and attain a 3.5 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
Cornell's academic all-conference recipients are, women's track and field: seniors Andrea Aerts and Allie Jagielo, junior Laura Lindsay, sophomores Lauren Seeman, Maria Helgeson, Elise Mead and Leslie Smebak; men's track and field: juniors Chase Nowak, Chris Stadler, Reed Skoog and Matt McGowan, sophomores Jordan Kemme and Scott Hageman; men's golf: seniors Mark Wyzgowski and Corey Dieser, sophomore Richard Starr; baseball: senior Andrew Patzke, junior Justin Brown; men's tennis: junior Neal Klauer.
The Rams had nine Academic All-IIAC spring performers also earn academic all-conference status in the 2010 fall season. The group features women's cross country runners Aerts, Helgeson, Jagielo, Lindsay, Mead, Seeman and Smebak, along with men's cross country runners Hageman and Stadler.
Aerts, Jagielo, Patzke and Dieser were recognized academically by the league for the third year in a row.
