Cornell junior women's basketball player Camille Marie-Lidd has been named the Iowa Conference Female Athlete of the Week for the period ending Nov. 20.
Marie-Lidd averaged 19.3 points and 9.3 rebounds in leading the Rams to a 2-1 start to the season. The 6-foot-2 center shot 54.2 percent (26-of-48) from the field and recorded a pair of double-doubles. Fifteen of her 28 total rebounds came on the offensive end.
Marie-Lidd equaled her career high with 28 points on 12-of-20 shooting while grabbing 10 rebounds in a 107-67 season-opening rout of Knox Nov. 15 in Mount Vernon. She posted 14 points and 15 rebounds in Friday's 68-45 home win over Aurora. Marie-Lidd finished an impressive week with 16 points on 8-of-16 shooting in a 66-60 loss at home Saturday to Carroll.
In the Knox game, Marie-Lidd became the eighth Ram in school history to reach the 800-point mark in a career, currently with 852. The two-time all-conference performer ranks second in the IIAC in scoring and third in rebounding through the opening week.
The Rams travel to play UW-Eau Claire at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 27. The team opens conference play Nov. 30 at Simpson.
