The Vernon Bar and Grill moves

CEDAR RAPIDS — The Vernon Bar and Grill has moved up the street in Cedar Rapids.

After 14 years at its former Cedar Rapids location, the restaurant has moved from 3025 Mount Vernon Road SE to a vacant building at 2835 Mount Vernon Road SE. The new address, opened in mid-August, was home to Cork & Fork for more than 30 years, according to KHAK.

Owner Jeremy Ward told the Corridor Business Journal that the restaurant will be featuring former Cork & Fork recipes on its new menu in its new location. The menu features an all-day breakfast and robust selection of hot sandwiches.

“We’ve been in business so long that paying rent was getting outrageous,” Ward told the Business Journal.

The Vernon Bar and Grill started operations as the Golden Egg in 2005, before becoming The Vernon in 2008.
