Texas Roadhouse reopens at new Cedar Rapids location

CEDAR RAPIDS — Texas Roadhouse opens this week at a new location just a stone’s throw away.

The steakhouse chain’s new Cedar Rapids location is moving two doors down — from 2605 Edgewood Rd. SW to 2425. After a brief closure of two days, it reopened there on April 23.

The new location adds seating for an additional 110 guests and will employ an additional 50 employees. It also offers 70 extra parking spaces, an improved carryout order experience and an expanded kitchen for increased efficiency.

Earlier this year, the chain’s national restaurant leadership announced plans to open more restaurants, with buildings about 10 percent larger than the ones the company constructed a few years ago. The new sites will serve higher volumes of guests more efficiently.

The new location was previously the parking lot for AMC Theaters, which closed in 2020.
