NORTH LIBERTY — THC drinks are hitting a new milestone in Iowa.
Field Day Brewing, the North Liberty brewery and producer of Day Dreamer hemp-based THC beverages, has announced the first and only location to serve THC drinks on draft in the state.
The new Draft Dreamer Draft Cannabis line will be served in options including cocktails, teas, sodas and more at Field Day’s relatively new taproom, 925 Liberty Way.
“This new offering allows us to blend the craft beverage experience with the growing interest in cannabis products,” said Alex Travis, chief beverage officer and founder of Field Day. “We’re proud to be at the forefront of this innovative new category in Iowa’s craft beverage industry, providing safe, enjoyable and locally-produced options for people who want to explore cannabis in a new and fun way.”
The brand’s Blueberry Lavender Nightcap won a gold medal for Midwest states and was labeled Best in State for Iowa by America’s Best Hemp THC Beverage, a subset of America’s Best Spirits Award.
The THC drink expansion comes after a year of significant growth and setbacks for hemp-based THC drinks and edibles in Iowa. Over the summer, new laws went into effect defining serving sizes and substantially restricting the maximum THC levels in beverages.
In November, Lion Bridge Brewing in Cedar Rapids launched MoonDream, its own line of THC beverages unique for being the first cans to offer a new level of THC since the passage of HF2605.
