New pizza restaurant plans downtown Cedar Rapids opening

CEDAR RAPIDS — A mysterious new pizza restaurant is coming soon to downtown Cedar Rapids.

Signs for Dua Pie appeared earlier this month at 375 Third St. SE. Without any hints on the new restaurant’s owner, the sign only indicates the new restaurant will serve “New York style pizza, pasta and subs.”

Dua Pie doesn’t seem to have any online or social media presence, and a timeline for opening has not been indicated.

The new restaurant is poised to fill the vacancy left by Gianna’s Italian Beef, which closed without warning early this year. Gianna’s held the space for about seven years.
