MARION — After announcing the closure of its downtown Cedar Rapids location in December, MIX Sushi & Kitchen is aiming for a spring opening in uptown Marion.
MIX said it hopes to start offering delivery and carryout service in early March and open its dining room in late March. It will be located next to The Hip-stir.
Its new Marion location, 1138 Seventh Ave., is the former home of Urban Pie. Both Urban Pie and Scoopski’s in Uptown Marion have closed amid ongoing construction coupled with other business challenges, according to the Corridor Business Journal.
MIX was first opened by Kyle Franklin and Bryan Aung at the Armstrong Centre in July 2019.
