CEDAR RAPIDS — A new dinner is making sure restaurant reservations aren’t just for those with means.
Nonprofit Matthew 25 is launching a new dinner at Groundswell Cafe, 201 Third Ave. SW, by reservation only.
The new dinner, Night Out at Groundswell, is designed to offer a meal for those who may not often have an opportunity to eat out in a restaurant setting. The meal, sponsored by a Matthew 25 supporter, will be offered at no cost on Friday, March 28 from 5-8 p.m.
The four-course dinner, featuring Steak Diane as the main entree, will be available at tables for parties of two to eight. The evening welcomes diners of all ages and will offer a special children’s menu.
“We know that a night out can be a rare treat for many families,” said Clint Twedt-Ball, executive director of Matthew 25. “This evening is about showing love, building community and sharing the joy of a great meal together.”
Reservations are offered on a first come, first served basis for 80 guests. Diners can make a reservation no later than 2 p.m. on March 26 by calling (319) 582-1167 or emailing info@matthew-25.org.
