CEDAR RAPIDS — Hospoda, a new craft beer and pizza restaurant at 62 16th Ave. SW in the Czech Village, opened its doors with a soft opening on Dec. 15.
Until the grand opening, owner Eric Lennie told The Gazette the restuarant will be open “most days of the week.” The restaurant will serve a limited menu over the next one to two weeks as they “hone their craft.” They expect to expand the menu soon.
Featured wood-fired pizzas on their limited menu now include a classic margherita, pistachio pesto with a Berkshire sausage and local honey; The Kolbe made with pancetta and fresh cremini mushrooms; and Pete the Heat made with chili oil.
A variety of local craft brews are also on tap.
The restaurant’s name is the Czech word for “pub.”
The former occupant of the space, Aces and Eights Saloon, closed July 12.
