Home Port reopening after remodel during construction

CEDAR RAPIDS — Home Port is reopening after two months of closure.

The restaurant and bar, now rebranded as HP Pub & Grub, will reopen Monday, Aug. 29, 2022, at 624 Center Point Rd NE. Home Port closed on July 22.

With construction nearby on Center Point Road, Home Port closed to take advantage of the slow period and renovate. Inside, an all-new interior features a restaurant-forward focus with a new kitchen.

HP’s new menu features burgers, tenderloins, appetizers and wraps, with daily lunch specials. Food offerings before the remodel were limited to pizzas, loose-meat sandwiches, hot dogs and fries as Home Port focused more on the bar side of business.

HP Pub & Grub’s hours also will be expanding, open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Tuesday, closing at midnight on Wednesday and Thursday, and closing at 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
