CEDAR RAPIDS — GROW at Kazimour Farm & Orchard is bringing back its free fall harvest.
GROWFEST returns for its second year on Oct. 4 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 2630 Otis Rd. SE.
Shop a wide selection of apples and pumpkins grown organically on-site for eating, baking or decorating. Get a glimpse into the orchard’s history or enjoy family-friendly activities throughout the day, like a cider making demonstration.
Visitors can bring a picnic for lunch, pose next to the farm’s vintage 1936 truck, carve pumpkins or craft apples.
The festival benefits Growing Real Opportunities for Work (GROW), a nonprofit at the recently revitalized acreage that helps bridge job insecurity for adults with disabilities by empowering them with skills through horticulture. GROW’s Core Crew of individuals living with unique challenges work the orchard, gardens and greenhouse at Kazimour Farm & Orchard every day.
