El Taco Feliz closes in Cedar Rapids

CEDAR RAPIDS — A taqueria and tortilleria has closed in Cedar Rapids.

El Taco Feliz, 1500 20th St. SW, announced its closure on July 1.

“It was a difficult decision, but thinking about our family it was the best decision,” the owners said in a social media post.

It’s unclear when the Mexican restaurant first opened, but its social media page has been active since at least March 2023. The family-run business started as a food truck before moving into its brick-and-mortar location in December 2023.

The owners did not specify a reason for the restaurant’s closure.
