CEDAR RAPIDS — If you’re missing CR Midnight Smoker’s brisket, ribs and pulled pork while it’s between locations, chances are you’re not the only one.
The former NewBo City Market vendor, currently in transition to a larger location at the former Cedar River Landing building, has found a little way to satisfy your cravings in the mean time.
Over recent weekends, the restaurant has been temporarily serving out of its new location’s parking lot at 301 F Ave. NW. Friday and Saturday openings, from 11 a.m. to about 3 or 4 p.m., will continue until the new building’s renovation is complete, owner Greg Stoll said.
Service this Saturday will be complete with live music on-site, previewing one feature of the new restaurant. Live music and a food truck will be available during Midnight Smoker weekends, weather permitting, until the building opens.
Stoll told The Gazette that the new location’s opening, initially scheduled for late February, has been delayed by renovation hiccups.
