CEDAR RAPIDS — A food truck in Cedar Rapids is parking for good.
Comfort Food 154 owners Scott Shay and his wife, Crystal, announced the closure on Oct. 26, after seven years in business.
“Because of YOU — our amazing customers, friends, and extended family — we were able to create something truly special,” they said in a statement on Oct. 26. “Your support helped us earn a 4.9 star rating on Facebook, as well as fill our days with joy, laughter, and delicious memories.”
The couple started the food truck in September 2018 with an opening menu that included home comforts like beef and noodles, chicken potpie and cabbage rolls. The “154” in the business name was the number of the house where Scott grew up in southwest Cedar Rapids.
“I continue to be amazed by Scott’s dedication — his ability to plan, organize, and pull off event after event flawlessly, even during the busiest weeks,” said Crystal. “I am beyond proud of him and so thankful for all the heart and hard work he poured into this dream.”
Details for the truck, now available for sale, can be found on the business’ Facebook page.
