CEDAR RAPIDS — After 20 years of farmers markets, a celebratory feast awaits this summer in downtown Cedar Rapids.
Gathered & Grown: A Feast of Five Seasons will offer an exclusive farm-to-table dining experience celebrating two milestones this year: the 20th anniversary of the Cedar Rapids Downtown Farmers Market and the 10th anniversary of Market After Dark.
Guests at the cocktail hour and dinner, set for July 27, will enjoy the season’s locally sourced bounty from market vendors over three courses prepared by Cobble Hill chefs. The birthday bash also will feature live music entertainment.
“Gathered & Grown is not just a dinner — it’s a celebration of the vibrant food culture and sense of community that the Downtown Farmers Market has cultivated over the past two decades,” said Jenn Draper, events contractor for the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance.
Tickets, available now at cedarrapids.org, are $150 per person. The event will be limited to 150 guests with banquet style seating at the outdoor venue — a blocked-off Second Street SE.
All guests must be over 21. Tickets include access to local brews, wine and spirits.
This year’s Downtown Farmers Market season features over 200 vendors from 7:30 a.m. to noon on select Saturdays throughout the summer and fall:
- June 7
- June 21
- July 5
- July 19
- Aug. 2
- Aug. 16
- Sept. 6
- Sept. 20
