Boone Mexican restaurant expands to Cedar Rapids

CEDAR RAPIDS — A Mexican restaurant in Boone has opened a second location in Cedar Rapids.
El Viejo 2, part of the Mojito’s Mexican Restaurant family, held a grand opening Aug. 28 at 90 Twixt Town Rd.
The menu includes a wide range of Mexican classics, from fajitas and tacos to burritos and molcajete. A seafood section includes specials with shrimp, fish and octopus.
House specialties include chile Colorado, Mojitos steak and Pollo Loco.
El Viejo joins a slew of other Mexican restaurant openings in Cedar Rapids over the past few months, including Rio Burritos at 5001 First Ave. SE and Guatemex at 1616 First Ave. NE.
