CEDAR RAPIDS — Less than a month after he announced plans to close permanently, the owner of Bo Mac’s has announced plans to reopen in an abrupt about face.
The New Bohemia restaurant closed on Aug. 25. Though the social media post announcing it did not detail reasons for the closure, owner Brett McCormick told Iowa’s News Now in July that ongoing construction at the intersection of 16th Avenue and Third Street SE has been difficult on the business.
At a Sept. 20 news conference, he announced plans to reopen the restaurant as the city unveiled a new program to help businesses affected by the area’s construction, according to KCRG-TV9.
