CEDAR RAPIDS — A Central Iowa fast food chain has reopened in Eastern Iowa.
B-Bop’s, the 1950s themed burger chain with drive-thru windows for the driver’s or passenger’s side of the vehicle, quietly opened on June 24 at 5240 Buffalo Ridge Dr. NE, near the intersection of Edgewood and Blairs Ferry Road NE.
The opening comes after the location was first announced in November 2024.
The opening is expected to precede a larger expansion across Eastern Iowa and out of state. The restaurant is eyeing multiple locations across the Eastern side of the state, including “all the bigger cities and the Quad Cities,” director of operations John Ferguson told The Gazette in November.
Currently, all of its other 12 locations are in the Des Moines metro region.
“Cedar Rapids is an awesome community, and it was somewhere we decided to go a couple years ago, so we started looking there and we will expand from there as well,” Ferguson said.
B-Bop’s had three locations in the Corridor at one time, according to the Corridor Business Journal — on Edgewood Road SW, Blairs Ferry Road NE and in Coral Ridge Mall in Coralville.
