Mosers power tumbling team places seventh nationally

MADISON, Wis. - The Moser School of Dance and Gymnastics team finished at the USTA Power Tumbling National Championships last month.

Moser also won five national division team awards, which helped the team achieve the seventh-place overall finish.

Mosers took first in advanced beginners girls' level, advanced beginners boys' level, beginners girls' level and sub-beginners girls' level, and placed second in sub-beginner boys' level

'We as coaches are very pleased with our athletes Individual national rankings and national team rankings 2017,” Coach Debbie Moser wrote in a release. 'They set goals, worked hard, stayed focused and always strived to do their very best for themselves and for their team.”

The athletes who competed in the sub-beginner through advanced levels are from Moser's nine studio in Manchester, Dyersville, Monticello, Independence, Elkader, Clermont, Guttenberg, Edgewood and Strawberry Point.

C.R.'S SCHULTE WINS JUNIOR TITLE

MUSCATINE - Ten-year-old Anthony Schulte of Cedar Rapids won the 12U singles title at the Muscatine Junior Open earlier this month.

Schulte is a member of Westfield Tennis Club.

JEFFERSON CAPTURES STATE BASKETBALL TITLE

The Cedar Rapids Jefferson seventh-grade boys' basketball team won the Pacesetter Sports state title and is playing in the Great Four-State Championships this weekend in St. Paul, Minn.

This one-class regional tournament includes two teams each from Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Iowa,
