Despite the heat, renaissance fans from near and far came to enjoy the Renaissance Festival & Gathering o' Celts at Amana Community Park in Middle Amana, Iowa, on Saturday, May 26.
The Festival continues through Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and will continue June 2 and 3 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Four-year-old Ezra Lowe of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, raises his gauntlet-wearing hands into the air as he tries on the gauntlets of Michael Johnson (background, left) of Omaha, Neb., of The Ravens Armored Combat League chapter as Johnson talks with Ezra's brother Ari, 7, during a break in combat exhibitions at the Renaissance Festival & Gathering o' Celts at Amana Community Park in Middle Amana, Iowa, on Saturday, May 26, 2018. Wearing 70-90 pounds of armor and other protective equipment, participants do battle with real, but blunt, weapons of those used during the Middle Ages. (Jim Slosiarek/The Gazette)
